Below is information about Dr. Lindsey Rodriguez, the lab manager, and current UF Social Psychology Ph.D. Students in the lab:

Dr. Lindsey Rodriguez is an Associate Professor of Psychology at the University of Florida and the Director of the Health-based Education for Alcohol, Relationships, and Technology (HEART) Lab. Her research focuses on the intersection of close relationship processes (e.g., communication, conflict), personality (e.g., attachment, emotion regulation), mental health (e.g., depression, anxiety, loneliness), and health behaviors (e.g., alcohol, opioids, gambling), ultimately striving to develop brief interventions that help people in all of these domains. Marianna Horton is a rising senior undergraduate student at the University of Florida majoring in Psychology and Criminology. She started as lab manager for HEART Lab in Fall 2023, helping to build the lab at UF. She is hoping to pursue a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology and is interested in research topics such as body image, eating disorders, addiction, and self-harm behaviors. In her free time she enjoys spending time with friends, reading, playing guitar, and going on roadtrips.


​Cassidy Jones-Goucher is a third-year graduate student at the University of Florida, born and raised in New York. She obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from SUNY Geneseo and her Master’s in Behavioral & Cognitive Neuroscience from UF, and is pursuing a Ph.D. in Social Psychology. Their research interests include behavioral and pharmacological treatments for addiction, interpersonal dynamics of romantic relationships, and aspects of personality psychology. In her free time, Cassidy loves to read romance and thriller novels, spend time with her Golden Retriever, Hela, and travel both locally and internationally. She aspires to pursue a career that integrates her passion for women’s health and mental health in either academia or industry.


Yali Philipson is a first year PhD student at the University of Florida. Yali graduated with her Masters in Human Development and Family Science at the University of Georgia where she focused on youth relationship education and smoking cessation interventions for dual smoker couples. Yali is interested in exploring motivation and goal pursuit in various contexts. Specifically, why some goals are achieved while others are not and to develop hacks that make challenging goals more attainable. Examples include different health behaviours (e.g., quitting addiction, physical activity) and performance goals (e.g., academic aspirations). In her free time, she enjoys running, weight lifting, cooking and travelling.
